L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation

L'oreal_Pro-Matte_Foundation_1_TP

It has been a hot minute since I last sat down and wrote a makeup post (well... just a "post" that is). I decided to do a formal review on the L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation*. I mentioned the foundation in my 2017 February Favorites post. It has been my go-to foundation since I went through a skin-type change earlier this year.

Where did I buy it?

I purchased the foundation for the first time at CVS a month ago. I do not remember how much I bought it for, but I went back a few days ago and saw it was $12.99. I am signed up for their CVS rewards program, so I probably did save some money when I bought it the first time. However, when I went to purchase another tube in a lighter color, I did not want to pay the full price. So instead I purchased it on Amazon*. It was $10.79, but Amazon gave me a $2.00 off coupon making it $8.79, then with tax, it was a total of $9.41.

I bought my first tube in the shade 108 or Caramel Beige (Beige Caramel) which is my spring/summer/autumn color, which probably most similar to my MAC shade of NC42. I later bought the a lighter shade in 106 or Sun Beige (Beige Soleil) to mix in with 108 to get the perfect color. Well, the most similar color because brown people can never find their perfect match.

8-Month Bullet Journal Update

No one asked, but here I am to give my 8-Month Bullet Journal Update. I have written a bit about bullet journaling in the past, like here and here. However, since we all know I don't go through with things, you all will be pleased to know that writing in and using my Bullet Journal has become a habit. I thought I would share what a typical spread looks like for me.

I start each month by creating a monthly calendar and writing in all my school-related assignments and activities. Everything has a distinct color, so it clicks into my mind what class it is for without having to write the name of the class.

Do you use a lighter concealer to highlight and cover blemishes?

I was reading a post by From Roses about an hour ago and she posted Four Ways to get a Perfect Base. At the end of the post, Rebecca asked "what are some ways you get a perfect base?" It had me thinking about something I do that many others do not, which is using two separate concealers: one that matched your skin tone and another that is lighter to highlight. Note: I also have a color correcting one, but that is another story.

The concealers I am using at the moment are the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in "Ginger" and MAC Studio Finish Concealer in "NC42." I use "Ginger" to conceal/highlight my under eyes, my chin, and my nose. For "NC42," I use that to conceal around my nose and any blemishes and hyper pigmentation I might have.

February 2017 Favorites

FF_2017_TP

Today starts my Spring Break where I will return home and do what I do at school: nothing. Just kidding, I do homework and stuff at school. It is really funny actually because I had photo assignments due on the first of March, it was like the 26th, and I was like, "yes! I have plenty of time to do them. Little did I remember February had 28 days. So you can imagine how that played out.

MAKEUP.

I made a mistake towards the middle of the month when I left my foundations at home. I was pretty chill about it because I was like, "I'll be back in two weeks." In that time I wore no makeup except for mascara, two days out of the fourteen days. In that time, I was thrown off my groove and was sent into a portal of makeup naivety. So this month, I wanted to highlight was my foundation ("you don't know how good you have it until it is gone" — Ken Bone). I have been using the Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation in 108, or Caramel Beige. If you read my Laila Notes II, you would know my skin type changed from dry to oily/combination. What I like about this is that it stays on for the entire day and keeps my skin matte, except for my nose, where I need to touch up during the day.
