New Skincare Bits

Hello eveyone! I just got a package in from Amazon, it included some new skincare bits, so I thought I would share.  If you are interested in Asian Skincare, you will definitely enjoy this post as I branch into products that are not sold in the K-Beauty section of Sephora or Ulta.

Rapid Reviews: Maybelline Master Precise Skinny Pencil, Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser, and ABH Lip Gloss in "Neon Carnival."

Hello everyone! Today, I have a simple post for everyone.  I have a rapid review of three products that don't need an entire post, but I have been meaning to talk about them.

Of course, you may have tried some of these products and loved them, but for me, they did not work.

Hello everyone! I am back with another Kpop inspired makeup look.

I got many warm responses from my previous look, read here, so thank you to everyone who read/enjoyed that post!

Today, I will be doing a recreation of Krystal Jung's makeup from F(x)'s group concept photo for their single "4 WALLS."

Krystal Jung is a member of the Kpop group F(x) — known for her singing and looks — and is also a pretty popular actress.

She is a literal photoshoot queen for being featured on soo many magazines, not only in South Korea but worldwide. If you follow my Pinterest, my Photography // Pictorial + Magazines board to be exact, then you have probably seen a bunch of her photos.

June Goals

I almost forgot to write about my June Goals! Ok, ok...I didn't forget. I am just trying to cover up the fact that during the month of May, I hardly accomplished anything.

But you know the saying, there is always tomorrow. So, I thought I would share my June Goals, but before we do that, let's go over my May Goals.

2017 Bullet Journal Set Up

I think the lifestyle portion of this blog is starting to consist of 80% bullet journal related posts. So why not keep that momentum going??

If you watched my 2016 Bullet Journal Flip Through on my YouTube channel (it recently hit 1,000+ views, yay!), then I mentioned I would do a 2017 Bullet Journal Set Up post.

I am currently using the Leuchtturm1917 A5* notebook in lemon/yellow and I still use my Le Pen* pens, Muji Pens*, and Midliners*

I did some new things to my bujo; I pulled a lot of inspiration from a few studyblrs and videos, which I will be sharing at the end of the post!

If you don't know who IU is then you are really missing out.

IU is Korean solo artist known for her innocent look and beautiful voice. She is also a great actress and song wiriter.

At the beginning of the year, she released her album Palette, which was a hit! I was not a huge fan of the title track ("Palette"), "Jam Jam" was the best song in my opinion, however, I adored her music video.

The music video was very fresh, as well as her makeup.

I tried to recreate it, but I fell a bit flat; I was still really happy with how it turned out. I will also have to let you know that I did not add a blurring filter to my skin. It is all because I bought a new ring light for my camera and it does the blurring for me!

If you follow my Pinterest, my MAKEUP LOOKS // To Recreate + Inspiration board to be exact, then you would know what makeup look from the video I wanted to recreate. If you don't, then I will insert some photos below.

Yellow Eyeshadow Look

If you remember a year ago I did a post called One Of These Nights, where I recreated Red Velvet's makeup from their One of These Nights music video. The makeup focused heavily on a true pink gradient lips and bright yellow eyeshadow.

It seemed like a very outlandish makeup look to wear very casually. However, after watching this video by Lisa Eldrige, I have come to realize this is actually quite wearable.

I was able to do the vivid eye makeup on my older sister, who has an eye shape similar to mine. I thought I would share the products I used and how I did the look.

5 Single Eyeshadows I Am Loving

I think I am addicted to buying single eyeshadows. It probably has to do with me not being able to commit to using large palettes in their entirety, which make me guilty considering I just keep buying more palettes.

I have, however, found a love for single eyeshadows because they allow me to really pick and choose what is best for me, instead of committing to big palettes.

Today, I thought I would share five single eyeshadows I am addicted to atm.

This is not a post about makeup.

I was going to do a post about eyeshadows, but I felt that talking about what is happening in the world is more important.

I am not doing a formal post because I want to show solitude to all the Britans who were affected by the bombing after the concert in Manchester, the Filipinos/Filipinas who were affected by maute in Minadao, the Thai people who were affected by the bombing at a hospital in Bangkok, and the car bombing in Syria.

I urge everyone to read and share stories to build awarness around these issues. The New York Times reported on the Manchester bombing, here (caution, the photo may be graphic to some); and the Bangkok hospitial bombing, here. BBC News  reported on the Manchester bombing, here. The Washington Post reported on Duterte declaring martial law in Marawi, here. France24 wrote about the car bombing in Syria, here

Please share credible sources, not just random tweets. I was mislead on some tweets regarding the Philipines. The Fillipino Police asked the its people to refrain using social media and spreading videos and images that could affect the safety of its civilians and military.

I am absolutley stunned and heartbroken over these events.

Please spread positivity and unity.

Stay safe everyone.

Bullet Journal Flip Through (#2)

Hello, everyone! I am excited to share this video I filmed for everyone. It is a flip through of the bullet journal I used from August 2016 — June 2017.

If you have any questions or thoughts, please put them in the comments below.

MAC Haul

Hello everyone! I am going to show you guys some bits I picked up from MAC yesterday. This will be a pretty short post, so this is a light read. Other than that, I hope you enjoy!

What makeup does SM Entertainment use on their idols?

After researching for quite some time, I am finally ready to share this post with everyone. Today, I will be sharing my research on what makeup SM Entertainment, A Korean Entertainment company, uses on their idols. I like to think of this post as a piece of ratchet investigative journalism because I cannot 100% conclude this is the makeup SM idols use, but I can give some propelling evidence.

Also, before we begin, any links with an asterisk (*) are affiliate links.

Right now, the Korean beauty industry is booming due to their specialization in natural looking makeup. When idols go on music shows, most of the comments under their performance videos are not in regard to their talent, but how beautiful they all are. And trust me when I say this, THEY ARE BEYOND TALENTED.

I used to buy a lot of Korean beauty products, thinking that using them I would look as beautiful as an idol. Therefore, I always believed Korean idols wore BB Creams when they perform. However, a few years ago, I was watching Hyuna (formerly of 4MINUTE ;_;) and saw she was wearing a BB Cream which left a very obvious white cast on her face, video here. Which made me ask the question...What kind of makeup do idols actually wear?

This started my journey to the truth...

15 TV shows you need to binge-watch right now

Suprise! I am uploading on a Monday! I think from now on I will upload on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Today, I was supposed to post a really fun blog post for all the K-pop/Korean Beauty fans out there, but I am not yet done with it. I thought it would be better to give myself an extra day or two instead of trying to complete it quickly. I spent a really long time researching for that post and I am making sure I find as many sources as possible. Never fear because that post will be up either Wednesday or Friday.

Since I have been on a HUGE Golden Girls binge-watching session, I thought I would share 15 TV shows I would recommend everyone to watch right away!

Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser

It has been quite some time since I did a product review, so today, I thought I would share my thoughts on the Clean & Clear Continous Control Acne Cleanser*. This is going to be a very quick review because I have pretty solid thoughts on it. This was recommended to me by my older brother, who struggled with acne alongside me. He said it was the best, and of course, I got to test that claim.

My Current Beauty Wishlist

Current Beauty WishlistMy Current Beauty Wishlist_TP

If you have ever seen me lurking in the comment section of any blog, then you might have witnessed me, in the comments, say, "OMG, I want that!" or "I am adding that to my wishlist." However, this wishlist cannot be found anywhere. It is as if I am adding beauty products to an endless void. Recently, I have been utilising my MAKEUP // Products Board on Pinterest, which has a large array of makeup products I am interested. Today, I thought I would share a few.

As many of you may know, Pixi skincare is the craze in the UK, and I have seen that obsession slowly trickle down into the USA. Many people are aware of the Glow Tonic that has been tried by everyone and their dogs, except me. How people describe it reminds me of the Etude House Skin Mal:gem Smoother, reviewed here, that I was obsessed with when I started TP.

How I use Peppermint Oil and Tea Tree Oil in my beauty routine.

Believe it or not, but I have been using natural oils in my beauty routine for years. They are, in my opinion, cheaper and healthier than anything found at the skincare counter in Nordstrom. So I thought it would be beneficial to some if I share how I use them.

Natural oils can be used for a plethora of things from a nasal decongestant to skin treatments. I know Jaclyn Hill uses peppermint oil as a nasal decongestant and for aromatherapy purposes. Eons ago, I talked about how I used oil from India to treat my hair here. Nowadays, I mainly use Tea Tree Oil and Peppermint Oil.

May Goals

Hello everyone! Since I am off for the next four months, I thought it was time for me to set goals for myself. Last month's goals, link here, did not go very well because I was extremely busy due to finals and school activities.

Current MAC Lipstick Collection

Current MAC Liptick Collection

Yoohoo! I have returned. To save you from the typical "I am happy I am back. I missed blogging. I will do better in the future" speech, let's jump right into the post.

I decided a nice way to flow back into blogging was to highlight my current MAC lipstick collection. I currently have four lipsticks to share, many of which are MAC classics, as well as a MAC Matte Retro Liquid Lipstick.

The first MAC lipstick I have ever purchased was Velvet Teddy (Matte). If you are a girl on the tanner side, I highly recommend this. It is hands-down my go-to nude lipstick that fits my skin tone perfectly.

April Goals

If you remember at the beginning of the year, I wrote about my 2017 New Years Resolutions. Since then, I took time at the beginning of each month to hand-pick some of thoose resolutions to focus on throughout the 30-days. January was fair, a few were accomplished, however, February and March fell flat. I think it's mainly because I haven't been managing my time correctly and I don’t remember my goals throughout the month. I have been reading A Girl, Obsessed and Kate La Vie for a few years now and at the beginning of each month, they share the goals they wish to accomplish. I thought, “hey, why not do the same?” It seems like a positive habit to have.

April is my last month of college and with that, I will be completing my freshman year of college(or university if you live in the UK…I think). A lot of these goals will be to start creating habits for the upcoming summer vacation, also, some bits and pieces are school-oriented for my upcoming papers and finals.

A New Business Email has had its run, but I think it is time to upgrade. If I want to see Townhouse Palette as branded business, I should really start taking business-like steps.  I cannot afford to create a serious business email through gsuite, but I can use Since Gmail organizes all my emails in sections, my primary box will be used for any business-related emails. I check my email so much due to school that it makes sense because my emails will be in my face. Also, I should update the contact page on the blog, where I want to keep all important information regarding any PR, Sponsor, Advertising, or Business Inquires. That way, no one will bounce around to try to find what they are looking for.

L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation

It has been a hot minute since I last sat down and wrote a makeup post (well... just a "post" that is). I decided to do a formal review on the L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation*. I mentioned the foundation in my 2017 February Favorites post. It has been my go-to foundation since I went through a skin-type change earlier this year.

Where did I buy it?

I purchased the foundation for the first time at CVS a month ago. I do not remember how much I bought it for, but I went back a few days ago and saw it was $12.99. I am signed up for their CVS rewards program, so I probably did save some money when I bought it the first time. However, when I went to purchase another tube in a lighter color, I did not want to pay the full price. So instead I purchased it on Amazon*. It was $10.79, but Amazon gave me a $2.00 off coupon making it $8.79, then with tax, it was a total of $9.41.

I bought my first tube in the shade 108 or Caramel Beige (Beige Caramel) which is my spring/summer/autumn color, which probably most similar to my MAC shade of NC42. I later bought the a lighter shade in 106 or Sun Beige (Beige Soleil) to mix in with 108 to get the perfect color. Well, the most similar color because brown people can never find their perfect match.

8-Month Bullet Journal Update

No one asked, but here I am to give my 8-Month Bullet Journal Update. I have written a bit about bullet journaling in the past, like here and here. However, since we all know I don't go through with things, you all will be pleased to know that writing in and using my Bullet Journal has become a habit. I thought I would share what a typical spread looks like for me.

I start each month by creating a monthly calendar and writing in all my school-related assignments and activities. Everything has a distinct color, so it clicks into my mind what class it is for without having to write the name of the class.

Do you use a lighter concealer to highlight and cover blemishes?

I was reading a post by From Roses about an hour ago and she posted Four Ways to get a Perfect Base. At the end of the post, Rebecca asked "what are some ways you get a perfect base?" It had me thinking about something I do that many others do not, which is using two separate concealers: one that matched your skin tone and another that is lighter to highlight. Note: I also have a color correcting one, but that is another story.

The concealers I am using at the moment are the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in "Ginger" and MAC Studio Finish Concealer in "NC42." I use "Ginger" to conceal/highlight my under eyes, my chin, and my nose. For "NC42," I use that to conceal around my nose and any blemishes and hyper pigmentation I might have.

February 2017 Favorites

Today starts my Spring Break where I will return home and do what I do at school: nothing. Just kidding, I do homework and stuff at school. It is really funny actually because I had photo assignments due on the first of March, it was like the 26th, and I was like, "yes! I have plenty of time to do them. Little did I remember February had 28 days. So you can imagine how that played out.

I made a mistake towards the middle of the month when I left my foundations at home. I was pretty chill about it because I was like, "I'll be back in two weeks." In that time I wore no makeup except for mascara, two days out of the fourteen days. In that time, I was thrown off my groove and was sent into a portal of makeup naivety. So this month, I wanted to highlight was my foundation ("you don't know how good you have it until it is gone" — Ken Bone). I have been using the Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation in 108, or Caramel Beige. If you read my Laila Notes II, you would know my skin type changed from dry to oily/combination. What I like about this is that it stays on for the entire day and keeps my skin matte, except for my nose, where I need to touch up during the day.
